kankaria Lake In Ahmedabad
Kankaria Lake is the second largest lake in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in India and it is located in the South-Eastern part of the city. This is an artificial lake and was built by Sultan Qutbuddin, and was completed in 1451, but was later titivated in 2008. The lake is a 34 sided polygon consisting of 1.25km circuit and steps leading down to the water. It has an elaborately carved water inlet with 3 circular opening on the eastern side.
The lakefront has much attraction like Kankaria Zoo, known as Kamila Nehru Zoological Garden opened in 1951 and is spread over 31 acres, including 450 mammals, 2000 birds, and 140 reptiles. It’s also a house with animals like python, anaconda, tiger, elephants and various albino animals.
There’s also an amusement park in the lakefront including various rides such as Boomerang Roller Coaster, the Flipping Arm, and Torching Tower. When you get to the lake you are going to enjoy Balloon Safari including a restaurant, tethered balloon, heritage exhibit, and a tethered balloon ride set. There is also the best place for kids which include Kids zone, where kids enjoy themselves, this is actually the world made for kids. In addition, there is a theme park Balvatika with a boathouse, playroom, butterfly and weapon display.
You will find Nagina Wadi, which is an island in the center of the Kankaria Lake. Nagina Wadi houses a small summer palace, musical fountain with multicolored laser lights during the night, informal entertainment and also various food stalls. There is also a natural history museum and an open-air theatre placed around the lake.
